The Venus has a mystical quality throughout history. Effigies have been forged of woman as mother figure for literally thousands of years. The Venus of Willendorf on whom our Venus was originally based, was found in Germany and she is believed to have been created between 28,000 and 25,000 BCE. This Venus was carved from wooly mammoth ivory – Amazing! In place of her head she has a loop, which suggests she may have been worn as a pendant in Palaeolithic times. We have stayed true to the design and given our Venus a loop in place of a head. Our Venus Talisman is very popular amongst those interested in Paganism, Druidism and Divination.
